Manhattan Mechanical continues to encourage young adults to fill skilled craft needs.
MANHATTAN, IL (DECEMBER 4, 2022) —
Now, more than ever, as we face a craft worker shortage, we focus on supporting local high schools and trade schools to continue to create relationships and educate students and teachers on the opportunities when choosing a career path in the trades. By educating people and being present when they are making career choices, we can break stigmas and forge a new path forward.
The future is bright for the young generation getting ready to enter the workforce, and Manhattan Mechanical has the opportunity to continue to develop new leaders. Manhattan Mechanical Services is committed to building a trained and certified workforce of craft professionals who can provide our customers with support in multiple craft areas.

Young Adults Needed to Fill Skilled Craft Needs
Manhattan Mechanical continues to encourage young adults to fill skilled craft needs such as pipefitting, industrial maintenance, rigging, welding among many.
On September 27th, the Manhattan Mechanical team participated in East Chicago High School’s career day. Manhattan Mechanical Support Services Manager Ralph Yelder, Training Manager Mike Lazoen, and Senior Human Resources Generalist Cory Burfield had the opportunity to speak to approximately 200 students on the benefits of pursuing a career in the trades, which was the focus of this event.
Affordable Opportunities for Students
During the event, plenty of students had already made the decision to attend the traditional 4-year college. However, a large portion of junior and senior students are still indecisive on their career path after high school and are open to non-conventional, more affordable opportunities.
